Seattle escribe

Angélica Amézcua (UW Seattle, Spanish and Portuguese) and Cristina Sánchez-Martín (UW Seattle, English) have been collaborating with Seattle Escribe as Workshop coordinators. Among others, they have organized an experimental storytelling and art workshop with writer María de Lourdes Victoria (Mexico) and artist Fulgencio Lazo (Mexico), writer Carlos Vazquez Cruz (Puerto Rico), writer Ofelia Montelongo (Mexico), and writer Oswaldo Estrada (Peru).

Seattle Escribe is a non-profit organization that supports Spanish-speaking writers based in the United States, especially in the Northwest. We are a volunteer driven organization that helps writers to carry out their craft regardless of their stage of training. We provide resources for them to start and develop their writing through classes, workshops and readings entirely in Spanish, in order to strengthen their identity through their language. Likewise, we disseminate information about opportunities for creative and professional development while promoting the artistic work of our members.
